Payment Assistance and Service Agencies

Illinois Department of Human Services Early Intervention Program

  • Early Intervention helps children between the ages of 0 to 3 with disabilities or delays, to learning and growing.  Families with an infant or toddler who is 0 to 3 years old may apply. Infants and toddlers are tested to see if there is a delay in: movement, learning, dealing with others, behavior, and/or self-help skills. If needed, a plan (IFSP) is written to set goals and identify needs for services. (click here to find an office)

Division of Specialized Care for Children

  • University of Illinois at Chicago's Division of Specialized Care for Children provides FREE care coordination for families of children with special health care needs statewide.
  • UIC-DSCC assists with: accessing diagnostic tests; finding information and resources; preparing for transition; finding specialized medical care; developing a care coordination plan; paying for certain medical expenses; using insurance and All Kids; and communicating with doctors, specialists and schools.

Illinois Deaf and Hard of Hearing Commission

IDHHC serves as a conduit of information about hearing loss to the State of Illinois. This information includes public awareness about hearing loss, demographic information on hearing loss in Illinois, statutes at the Federal and State level affecting the deaf and hard of hearing, a statewide captioned movie calendar, and a statewide calendar where organizations can post events related to hearing loss. Illinois School for the Deaf

The mission of the Illinois School for the Deaf is to educate students who are deaf or hard of hearing to be responsible, self-supporting citizens.

Kline House

Kline House provides direct service to families and their children diagnosed with hearing loss from birth to age 3 living within a 100 mile radius of Jacksonville, IL. Consultative service is available statewide.
